Memorial Day is celebrated across the United States as a day to remember those in our armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country… it is a time of remembrance and for giving thanks to those brave men and women who have proudly served our country.
So whether you are going to the beach, the town or community pool, or having a backyard get-together this Memorial Day weekend be sure to pause for a moment and think about those men and women who have died for our freedom.
Memorial Day for me holds a lot of significance, it is a time I remember my grandfather who was in the Air Force and served during WWII, he has since past but I can’t help but think of him the whole weekend.
It is also the unofficial start of summer and along with it the official start of the grilling season. For many of us that means dusting off the grill, inviting over family, friends and neighbors and throwing some burgers on the BBQ.
For us here at Mamma Rocks the Kitchen, this years Memorial Day also marks the unofficial launch of our blog and our posts on Pinterest. So in honor of that we have posted 6 Must Have Recipes you need to try this Memorial Day along with a little primer on, “How to Light a Charcoal Grill” without using lighter fluid.
So if you are looking for menu ideas for your Memorial Day BBQ, picnic or party look no further than these 6 recipes, make them all and your whole BBQ or picnic is already planned!
